Job Description
Our client an FMCG destribution company is seeking to fill the positions of sales represantatives within the Rift valley, Nyanza and Western regions
Job Purpose
As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for sales generation, customer relationship management, market development, order fulfillment support, and collections management within the assigned territory. The role ensures achievement of sales targets, timely collection of customer payments, product availability, market penetration, and effective management of customer accounts in line with company objectives and credit control policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Revenue Generation
1. Receive customer orders during field visits, by phone, or through digital channels, and process them accurately for timely fulfillment
2. Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets as assigned
3. Promote and sell the company’s products to existing and potential customers
4. Identify sales opportunities and convert leads into active accounts
5. Conduct regular market visits to maximize product penetration and sales volume
6. Upsell and cross-sell products based on customer needs
7. Implement sales promotions and campaigns in the field

Territory Management
1. Plan and execute effective market coverage within the assigned territory
2. Ensure consistent customer engagement and outlet visit frequency
3. Develop new distribution channels in underserved areas
4. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences

Product Distribution and Delivery Support
1. Coordinate timely delivery and availability of products to customers
2. Confirm quantities delivered against invoices and delivery notes where applicable
3. Collect proof of delivery and customer acknowledgements
4. Ensure proper handling of products to avoid damage or loss
5. Work closely with logistics and distribution teams to support efficient order fulfillment

Customer Relationship Management
1. Build and maintain strong customer relationships
2. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally
3. Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
4. Educate customers on product features, benefits, and usage
5. Provide merchandising support and product display guidance where necessary

Cash and Credit Management
1. Collect customer payments as per company policy
2. Issue receipts and maintain accurate sales and collection records
3. Reconcile daily sales, collections, and stock movement records where applicable
4. Follow up on outstanding payments within approved credit terms
5. Safeguard company funds and company property entrusted to you at all times
6. Monitor customer credit status and escalate overdue accounts promptly
7. Ensure customers adhere to agreed credit terms and payment timelines
8. Work closely with Accounts/Finance department on debtor reconciliation and recovery follow-ups

Stock and Inventory Coordination
1. Maintain accurate records of stock movement
2. Report stock variances, shortages, damages, or expiries promptly
3. Support proper stock rotation and storage practices
4. Coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams for replenishment and stock availability

Reporting and Administration
1. Prepare and submit daily sales reports, customer visit reports, and collection reports
2. Maintain accurate customer records and visit logs
3. Report market intelligence, competitor pricing, and customer feedback
4. Support audits and reconciliations when required
5. Utilize company-approved sales, reporting, route management, inventory, and field activity systems accurately and consistently
6. Ensure timely and accurate update of customer visits, sales transactions, collections, stock movement, and market activities in designated company systems
7. Attend scheduled sales meetings, trainings, product knowledge sessions, and performance or sales review meetings

Compliance and Company Standards
1. Adhere to company sales policies, pricing guidelines, and credit controls
2. Follow health, safety, and security procedures
3. Maintain professional appearance and positively represent the company brand
4. Comply with company code of conduct and ethical standards
5. Adhere to all company digital reporting, monitoring, and operational systems as assigned by the Company from time to time
